I'm Monica, founder of Peruda Skincare, cancer survivor turned skincare innovator.

It started in 2013, when my skin suddenly spiralled out of control: two abscesses, rosacea, adult acne, and rashes that covered my body. 

I tried everything from luxury creams, drugstore remedies to dermatologist prescriptions - nothing helped. I was given solutions like chronic, nothing-can-be-done, manage-it-as-good-as-you-can, and little to no options for alternative solutions. So I turned to the science of skin health, diving into dermatological and botanical research as well as natural healing traditions. 

That journey led me to the Amazon. I discovered the extraordinary regenerative powers of wild-grown botanicals, and began experimenting with my own recipes at home - my skin started to visibly recover. 

Then in 2019, life threw another curveball: a stage 3 cancer diagnosis that started in the uterus and had spread to nearby organs. 

A year of invasive treatments followed that saved my life - my immune system however, was shattered. My skin, already sensitive, started to become reactive. 

But this time I was prepared. When I was well enough, I reworked my formulations into restorative blends that could support even the most fragile, treatment-affected skin. My personal journey - from bad skin to standing at the intersection of survival, science and nature - builds the foundation of Peruda.
